I picked these caps up from a fellow ham and I have a question. The temp
rating says 50C and I'm thinking this may be low for use in a tube amp PS.
They would be mounted on top of the chassis away from any heat producing components. Any thoughts would be appreciated, Thanks

I'm not sure that is the maximum temperature, probably the temperature that will keep it within 5% of 92uf.

I see that similar Aerorvox caps are rated for 70C/158F max, keep looking for yours though, or email the company with the part number.
It says that the impregnant is a combustible fluid, so I would respect the warning carefully. I would choose the fuse in the dc line carefully, too, since self-heating and combustible fluids sound like a hazardous combination!
Thanks H E, I tried to find these on the Aerovox sight but didn't see them. I think they're custom made. They're from a monster SMPS. I have 9 of them.
Does Aerovox website list them? Maybe there's a datasheet somewhere that could help. Guessing is not enough especially when it comes to safety. I'd recommend not to use them until you find out more details.
The SuperMet series all seem to be rated for -40 to 70, with 90 degrees as an option.

Yeah, I found that but it doesn't list caps with the these specs. I'm thinking these dealt with some pretty high currents hence the ratings. I'll shoot Aerovox an email and try to get some more precise info. Spewing combustible oil doesn't sound pleasant 🙁 Hey at least it's PCB free!
