Capacitor quality in 3-way crossovers, different size capacitors, externally mounted upgradable crossovers... And other questions (Anthology II build)

in general as long as you have good enough capacitors, it doesn't matter what you take, you can save A LOT by not going Jentzen.

Also in general stacking the capacitors is fine as long as the capacitance total is close. But you can easily find 18uF from for example ClarityCap. Want to go much much cheaper? Try to get polish Polnik capacitors - amazing prices, still sound the same.

I myself won't go for 100V, someone more knowledgeable than me needs to comment on voltage.
Poland bro, it's not the capacitance i am worried about! It's the voltage. I am also not concerned with Jentzen or any other manufacturer, just the voltage.
but thanks for the reply i didn't know Jentzen where considered expensive (€1.49) - its the only cap that 'SoundImports' have at those values. 👍

On the picture, please remove those white resistors, they have some inductance because the wire inside is twisted. Being right next to the inductor will cross feed them. Just use those green $1.5 parts express resistors.
Thanks, i just had a look at XMechanik's original crossover board and he does indeed use cheap ceramic resistors. Strange how he listed parts on ASR that are very different from his original board!
he uses 5w ceramic resistors (Jantzen Audio) but listed 10w wirewound on ASR
His capacitor voltages are different on his board compared to the list
he uses a 0,82 µF 400 V but lists a 630v
he uses a 18 µF 100 V but lists a 160v
he uses a 3.3 µF 250 V but lists a 160v
even the inducuers are different values makes me wonder if it matters?
uses on original board a 0.33 mH | 0.26 Ω lists 0.38Ω
uses on original board a 1.5 mH | 0.94 Ω lists 0.91Ω
Anyway thanks for pointing out the inductance of wirewound if you hadn't of said i wouldn't of checked his original board, really thanks a lot, i have changed my order based on what you said.

So does the Ω value make any difference?
Does the AWG size make a difference on the inducers?

Resistance is typically the primary parasitic impedance element with a crossover inductor. It makes a difference, sometimes not enough to be a problem. I couldn't reasonably gauge across a forum what amount is within your voicing range. BTW, AWG is related to this, the resulting variation is the same issue.
