Folks:
I'd like to replace the capacitors in my 17-year old Audio Electronic Supply AE-25 SuperAmp Signature. Selecting upgraded caps will be easy for the most part, but I'm unfamiliar with the five purple "Audio 1" 0.22uF, 600VDC capacitors shown in the photo. I have very limited experience with tube components and would be grateful for advice on a suitable replacement for those purple caps.
And before anyone points this out, yes, there's a 560uF 400V cap that's already been pulled from the lower left corner of the chassis.

Might be a "house brand" part they used in their amps. I would use a similar value metallized polypropylene film cap.
Check the physical size before you order anything, some film caps are larger than you'd expect.

Cornell-Dubilier 940C series available from Mouser are a decent all-round cap. 0.22uf/600v are slightly less than 1/2" diameter and about 1.375" long. Only about $5 each. I'd also replace any other electrolytic caps in a 17 year old amp, lower right corner in your picture, too.

Yes, that's not a bad choice. I had planned on using 940C caps in a bypass role for the larger capacitors in the AE-25; I prefer the higher voltage versions (1kv and 1.2kv unless there's plenty of space) but the 600V size might be adequate. Thanks as well!

I have a pair of Sixpacs form AES. If I remember correctly, the PIO "Audio 1" capacitors were offered as an upgrade to the Audience Auricap (0.22uF) that came with the amplifiers. I think there was some consensus that the Audio 1 capacitors were in fact Vitamin-Q's.
I replaced the Auricaps in my Sixpacs with some V-Caps, initially with TFTF caps but I didn't like the results and ended up replacing the TFTFs with the CUTFs that remain in the amplifiers to this day.

If those are really Sprague Vitamin Qs, replace them immediately. They are really poor, and leak like a sieve.

As yo can See here: even fat Jensen copper foil/oil capacitor are fits here.

BTW Auricaps are one of the most neutral capacitors, but not in the same league of V-Cap teflons (I usually use in the past TFTF and later mostly CuTF as coupling capacitor).
The price multiplier about 6!
