also still looking for its timely arrival - c'mon man - 'taint a real website w/o a horn (or better yet "Karlson") forum . . . .
Nice try....😛
That is what i was goung to say. Tagging BigUn. With no clear definition of what a horn is, it is not possible to set up such a forum and this has been explained to you before, give it up.

Freddi, what is a horn? Very few here have true horn systems. Most things people call horns are loudspeakers using horns as tweeters or midranges. Almost always less than 5 octaves. If we had a horn forum we would need a dome forum, and a ribbon forum (we sort of have that). Where would you put the FR BLHs? (btw: often much closer to coming to 5 octaves than most horns, but does use TL action to get there)

to me as a "system" it definitely includes classic front loading at least down to 135Hz, 2pi sensitivity typically 103dB and up 1W/1M. This necessitates larger cabinets than direct radiator. Reducing midbass horn size and mouth area can make good graphs but the life seems to be gone. Karlson would not be allowed in a horn forum other than for comparison. (I pick them even with their energy storage oddities as subjectively do better at small size for some use than severely compromised horn including La Scala)
My bass - midbass horn experience is limited to Edgarhorn 100 system Bruce's Monolith, EV Sentry IV, Peavey FH1, Klipschorn plus a couple of custom midbass.
I look at direct radiator plus WG / horn as direct radiator. To be a horn, the output of the device shall see some gain over a bare speaker bolted to a baffle /cabinet.
A horn forum could have a subset covering midrange to tweeter horn discussion.
As you are a horn designer - would BLH have a sub-forum ? - I guess that would not be needed.

Without a horn in the bass it is not a “Horn System” but getting down that low means horns are covering 7 octaves.

true - where does bass start? The La Scala is ~ 110Hz horn, and mass loaded BP below its 1/4 wave path.
Could a proposed horn forum tidy up various ideas and needs ? With a mid driver such as PRV's D2200PH, there's opportunities to build decent FLH 3 way systems for less than $500US per side driver and crossover cost which some might like over the usual monkey coffin.
Maybe its moot.

Get dedicated forum section where Diyers can share his experiences with compression drivers and horns is a great ideaI can see the Horns forum in the menu (see attached) but am unable to access it and I have a new thread I want to start regarding a corner horn
😀

No more confusion with FR and other types of loudspeakers in the audio system..even if is frequently " full horns "+ the woofer....why not..?Very few here have true horn systems..

My message was about possibility of the new forum section on diyAudio,
not dedicated other forums or sites who are experts in compression drivers and horns use.
No big deal I can find them outside.. they are more attractive

There is Full Range forum, yet vast majority of projects or systems are some variation of full range and woofer or subwoofer.Without a horn in the bass it is not a “Horn System” but getting down that low means horns are covering 7 octaves.

I started a horn thread in full range, it was a FAST/WAW, and it met all the same cryieria as the other Fast/Waw but my thread was moved to multiway. Not many horn folk around here, my thread was too boring, too specialised.
Soundhappy, is there another horn forum you can recommend to me to join ?

I wasn’t unhappy about the move, I know that I can reach out to you guys.
My comment was more about realising that there‘s no obvious spot to go to find or start horn threads. Even when I had planned my thread as Fast/Waw so it could go into Full Range (where I used to hang out) it equally works in the multiway (like all of the other Fast/Waw threads too), and there are also horns in the subs forum. They are spread around, I’m just stirring the pot to see if there’s support for a horns forum!

The only horn loudspeaker forum I know of is Klipsch's Technical-Modifications forum. Audio Asylum's High Efficiency Speaker forum is pretty much dead and useless. (It worked better when DJK was alive)

Is not dedicated to compression drivers and horns forum only but about Hi -Fi in general and is French " Melaudia ".I started a horn thread in full range, it was a FAST/WAW, and it met all the same cryieria as the other Fast/Waw but my thread was moved to multiway. what fascinates me about horns is
a) it's the only true high efficiency technology and is an elegant approach from a technical perspective
b) they consistently generate a perception of aliveness amongst many users that they can't find with other solutions
c) the method of working is different and this means a chance to learn something new, the requirements on drivers is v. different especially with compression drivers and we have access to very good freeware modelling software so that anybody can design a good horn speaker (within reason)
I think horns are sufficiently distinct from direct radiators that they would justify a separate forum (just like Class D is not buried inside Solid State or Chip Amps)
