Can't Find 25k Motorized Pots. Help!

This is my first post here, looks like a great community.

I need some 25k motorized potentiometers to balance between mono inputs. I can't find them for sale anywhere. If you can give me a link, please do. I've almost given up. I will probably have to make them.

If I make them, I'm considering two options:

1. Attach a servo motor to a standard pot

or

2. Modify a motorized pot by replacing the resistor element

Thoughts?

Hi lainarko, thanks for the suggestion.

linear or log ?

Linear. It's going to mix signals of two guitar pickups, and I need the output level consistent across the whole spectrum.

you should search for 20k .

I've thought of that, but I'm not sure how much it would change the tone. Also, I've had trouble finding 20k ones as well. Can you recommend a supplier?

Those could do the job. They're a bit big to fit into the cavity of a guitar though.

try to manage with a 100k
they are cheap Potentiometers | Mouser

I'm afraid that would be far too much resistance. Anything over 25k would take a toll on the tone. I may be able to manage with a little less resistance, but not more.

I found 25k motor pots at percyaudio.com, but they're $130 each!

So I'm considering using a digital potentiometer instead. Can anyone recommend one that will be good for audio? That question may necessitate a new thread.

Thanks for all the help.
