Well, after just damaging one little connector my last Fujitsu lcd died. Now I'm trying with this Benq that was supposed to be easy to strip (so some lumenlab dudes say) but I can't even open the back of the lcd... I'm so depressed, I hope I didn't force it to much forcing like hell on the sides to make it pop.

Why the hell do they make it impossible to easly unscrew and open, :sigh:

anyways, here are some pictures taken from the back/side of the panel

there seem to be a locker symbol with a small hole next to it. When I look inside from that hole I see 3 metal hook shaped parts of metal, i tried pushing them with a mini screw driver, but I'd have to push down hard on all 3 at the same time and pull like crazy with the back of the panel? sounds real easy to me 🙁

any ideas? I can't return it now, it's all grudged in... plz give me some ideas, maybe gridding all the sides with a dremel? ugh

tanx for reading...

There are 2 tabs on each side holding the case together. This is a quote from someone else who stripped theirs.

"Using an old credit card ,slide it in the bottom seam with moderate pressure to release the two tabs holding the front half to the back half. The tabs are those two tabs on the front half (sticking up) that have three retangular holes in them. The holes match up with rounded protrusions on the inside of the back half. You really only need to press at these two tabs to release the bottom edge.

To open the sides, slide the card in the backmost side seam starting at the open bottom and twisting fairly hard as you go along. No need to push in as the tabs are covered by the trim and can't be pushed in. The tabs are the same as the bottom and the protrusions are rounded, so you wont break the plastic if you twist pretty hard. There are three tabs on each side. I used a credit card so that I would not mare the plastic. A screw driver would ruin the plastic. Twist the card to pry the halves apart, repeat with other side, rotate the back off of the top tabs"

Hope this helps.

Fantastic, I'm not home right now, but I'll soon be back with updates. You are of great help.

I might be completely wrong but I think that hole is meant
to be locked with external steel cable that loops around the desk
or similar. Most laptops and things like mac mini have them.
Just to keep people from swiping things and taking off with them.

This is probably not what is preventing you to open monitor.

Again I never had to deal with it myself ...
Thanks, I figured it out looking at my friend's laptop just now. 😀
