Indeed & he throws in amplitude increase between 1 - 4KHz as a change in the perceived attack of cymbals Yes, noise or timing
I said it changes the attack of a "snare drum". Not percieved, look at the waveforms. And unless its the first sound in the song the backround is not quite.
He isn't very clear either. I think he was saying that speed is bandwidth. I think you are saying noise can cause a perception of delay of the attack?
Speed is bandwidth. Signal theory 101.

As I have been warned I will not reply here - I started a thread here, if anyone is interested
What do you mean they start from a quiet background?Remember the attack starts at low amplitude & ramps up depending on the risetime of that particular sound - obviously a cymbal strike has fast risetime in comparison to cello bowing but they all start from quiet background
What do you mean they start from a quiet background?
Are you trying to get me to break my curfew on this thread? I've already been warned not to pollute threads - to start my own - maybe that's where you can post your question?
IMO no problem, this test has been completed, so why not discuss on related things. However, as I already said, I would appreciate the real suggestion how to make the better test, step by step. In my professional life, my work has always been a combination of theory, experiments, measurements, explanations. If I speak about amplifiers, I want to give circuit examples, measurements and results. If we speak about test methods, I would appreciate a suggestion of usable procedure, step by step. I do not appreciate a discussion in general terms only that much.

Dosnt have an answer.
Yes, but fewer members will participate when the test becomes too complicated and/or take a long time to do. Better in theory but ... 🙂... If we speak about test methods, I would appreciate a suggestion of usable procedure, step by step....

I agree 🙂.
Hi Pavel,
I believe that this is mostly for fun and you may have already know what the result will be. But why don't you conduct a test that will answer more serious curiousities especially of your own? (Jitter, phase, damping factor, overshoot, etc.)
