can you look at this sub for me?

Looking to make a marty/devastator box for the house.
Need the deep breath I am missing from my sealed 15.
It hits hard. and is great musicly.
But missing the thunder storm and the deep power.

Going to feed a PAIR of these 125 per coil
and use a pair of them.

Thiele Small Specifications

Revc = 3.400 ohms
Fo = 36.121 Hz.
Sd = 53.093 mM
Md = 60.000 g
Bl = 9.458T
Qms = 2.443
Qes = 1.225
Qts = 0.816
No = 0.431%
SPL = 90 dB
Vas = 115.926 mM
Cms = 289.613u M/N
Krm = 4.148 m Ohm
Erm = 0.793
Mms = 67.034 g
Mmd = 60.000 g
Kxm = 31.652 mH
Exm = 0.625

Looking to make a tall marty or devestator style sub and feed it 70hz and below only.

Based on just quickly scanning the net, a 0.816 Qts is way too high for a basic vented alignment, much less these that use low Qts [mid] bass horn drivers in the builds I scanned, though could be used in a large TL.

What brand/model are these and are these measured specs?

OK, published specs, so often pretty far off on 'no-name' brands [and too many big ones! 🙁], plus no Xmax listed, so have to assume not much, maybe 5-6 mm, which will severely limit its low distortion performance down in the bass even with two, but then in your room, your listening habits it maybe just fine as I tend to use THX reference's 115 dB @ the listening position as a guide.

Regardless, don't know if there's anything special about designing one of these, so just for a frame of reference we're looking at a T/S max flat vented of ~2,318.6 L tuned to ~15.17 Hz for just one driver, so two = ~4,737.2 L assuming that Vas = ~115.92 L [a reasonable spec] since mM appears to be a typo.

If squeezed to 1/10 it's still ~231.86 L and adjust tuning to maximize its limited peak power handling, i.e. tuned to actual Fs, but could be DSP'd flat in room.

seems like a huge huge box.

I dont mind big. just not huge.
I have a 2 ohm stable 2 channel amp with about 250 max per channel.

Considering some form of TL or marty or devastator build.
Currently running a 500 watt 15 inch sealed.
It just doesnt have the breath and shake during very low frequency and very powerful effects.

It's what you get with a driver that has a high Qt even for sealed. FWIW, the 231.8 L cab tuned to ~24 Hz can only do ~105 dB/m/80 W/2pi.

edit: Squeeze it down to Vas = Vb and tuned to ~34 Hz it can handle the whole 250 W, but it's pretty seriously under damped, though presumably it can be DSP'd to ~flat in room, but have no experience with how well it will perform distortion wise.

It's a step in the right direction, but I don't think it'll be great.

Could you provide more info?

- Maximum cabinet size
- Room size
- Any processing options you have (EQ, DSP, etc)
- Your woodworking capabilities
- Would you be willing to change your amplifier?

A better driver would almost certainly provide more output/extension in a smaller box, but will almost certainly require more power to do it.

dont matter.

- Room size
14 x 20

computer based source.
I have a EQ on the computer.

- Your woodworking capabilities
better than normal.

- Would you be willing to change your amplifier?
2 channel amp? 2 ohm stable?
seems like i would want to use all the power i can get on it.
already purchased.

You also say "seems like a huge huge box. I dont mind big. just not huge." Can you put some number ranges to the words 'big', 'huge' and 'huge huge', so people don't have to guess what they mean to you? 😉

I don't understand this part. Are you asking for recommendations for desirable features in a subwoofer amplifier, or announcing that you already bought a new one? (if so, which one, or at least what are the new specs?)

You can get good results with low priced loudspeaker chassis, but the ones you showed are just cheap. My advice, go and look at the Dayton line of speakers.
Dayton Audio - Parts Express
They have some of the best low cost chassis in the US. The data they provide are real and fit the drivers. So, your result will be what a good simulation predicts. Your room is not very large, one 12" or two 10" should be able to rock it.
For your needs you should spent at least 100 US$ for each speaker. Better build one now and a second when funds allow and you really want even more low bass.

Can you give us the model of amp you have? More input from your side means better output from here...

This would be my favorite near your price point. Dayton Audio MX12-22 12" Max-X High Excursion DVC Subwoofer 2 Ohms Per Coil

PS do not take the Parts Express volume recomendations serious. Usualy you end up with larger housings, giving lower frequency output.

from what im throwing around in winisd. I am looking at 3x2x1.5 foot box. internally 9 foot.

9 foot is pretty big. looks like i will do 2 round ports to make it happy. looks super flat to 19.

Currently have the sub and the amp.
amp is a 2 ohm stable 2 channel 250 watt max a channel amp
The amp should be very happy with this sub. its a DVC 2 ohm sub

Sonance amp. cinema 260x3 and a cinema subwoofer 260.
