as title, can you (successfully) fold an HF horn in the same way as you can a bass horn? Or do you need to keep them straight for them to work well.
Thanks
Thanks
Altec, and I think others, had a 90 degree bend in some of their PA horns but I'm not sure if was good or was done for specific design reasons ie: fitting them into something.
Yes. One can fold HF horns.
You can expect similar results too.
HF horns are normally not folded because they are inherently smaller and the pitfalls of folding can therefore be avoided.

Folding horns can, according to Dr. Bruce Edgar, attenuate HF. Gently bending them is less harmful to the highs.

😉
I want to fit it somewhere it doesn't want to go 😉 they are more of a mid/high horn really, I'm aiming for 600-800Hz up from one pair and about 1kHz up from another.
I'm building horns for use in a car, I've bought pairs of horns from Veritas and Image Dynamics in the past, I now fancy trying to make the hornbodies myself.
So I can fold them but its best avoided if possible, gently curving them is ok though.
