Certainly, +- to -+ or -+ to +- wires in series and reverses phase.
Drawback dunno, too hypothetical
I think the hypothetical will show up around the Fs of each driver depending on the system QTS. We shall see! Lol
Yes.....Cardoid. Instead of sacrificing efficiency by using a single driver's back wave, plan to use a second driver as in a dipole
Hi,
Yes it's works..
I call it Dual Acoustic Dipole.

Interesting. Do you have sensitivity measurements? I did try such a setup but compared to "normal" one pointing forwards and one backwards but above and below each other I lost a lot of sensitivity, about 6 dB so distortion was far higher.
Or rather, I lost sensitivity if I damped between the drivers which I had to as I got an on axis null if I didn't. I suspect it is because the rear driver passed through the cone of the other driver. In my case I used shallow 6.5" drivers so the null was between ~ 600 - 1000 hz.

What's the xover you used on Fostex ?
I measured Fostex fe126e and it looks good but not that good

Hi Zvu,
Xo 185 hz 12 db..
Response curve is not often the sound quality !
Phil.
I haven't commented sound quality (that i liked very much in fe126e), i commented on the measurements. This is what i got and it's pretty similar to other measurements i found on the web.
