Can the Umik1 measure a sub accurately?

I have the Umik1 and love it, but I've read that it can't measure sub signals accurately. What is your experience/thinking?

The Umik should work fine.
The problem with measuring subwoofers is you usually end up measuring considerable room effects too.
Put your microphone within about 1" of the subwoofer dust cap and that should yield a good measurement.

Thanks. I'll measure it outside when it's done. That should take care of the room issues.

djn, but you do want to know how your room modes are...
measure it outside, fine, but inside is where you listen, so in the room placement is critical, you can only know that by measuring inside

Yep, I'll do that too. I just wanted a good base line to work from.
