Is 1.5V DC your favourite music ?
I suggest you first read “Electronics for Dummies” to bring your knowledge to a basic level.

you said that current is what moves a cone
i said that even 1.5V moves a cone
If you apply a voltage to a resistance a current will flow through the resistance
you clearly do not understand my point That is that a woofer will behave differently depending on the signal incoming
One thing is a clean impulse another thing is a impulse warped by passing through an inductor
What is wrong in this reasoning ? an inductor behave very differently from a straight wire
This is the reason why at least some people go for crossover less speakers
An inductor is the worst thing that can be put in series with a woofer by far

You know what’s even worse ?An inductor is the worst thing that can be put in series with a woofer by far
No proper inductor(s) in series with the woofer 🤣
Good luck in your parallel universum.
Hans
it depends You clearly do not know Epos speakers for instance
They have a woofer directly connected to the terminals with nothing in between
They sound wonderful
Like many wideband drivers There are no passive parts between them and the amp
It depends
unfortunately i do not have access to a scope to show you what i mean
Its called physics
the problem is that speaker drivers are mechanical and less precise of electronic devices
One evidence is the response to a square wave Many amps give back a perfect SW
Speakers warp it in a very evident way What you send in comes out distorted
They are usually the weakest link in the chain
Their distortion is order of magnitude bigger than the distortion of an amp

Note that the voice-coil winding in a loudspeaker is an inductor. An inductor is the worst thing that can be put in series with a woofer by far
that you cannot avoid of course If you look at the square wave response of a woofer often is quite poor
Then look at the SW response of the same woofer preceded by an inductor and compare the 3 signal
SW SW of the woofer and SW of the woofer after an inductor
That would give a measure of the fidelity of the playback system
The general principle is what you send in you should get out
I am not an expert but resistors are very good at passing a SW Capacitors can be also pretty decent depending on their type and quality
Inductors are not respectful of SW they sometimes deform it in an indecent way
SW is very very telling
