Can I use this driver for a sub ??

Hi,

I have two DAVIS 20MP8 woofers with following data :

Fs 37,5
Qes 0,40
Qms 4,11
Qts 0,36
Vas 58,0
Re 6,25
Le ...
Sd 210
Xmax 3,5
Pe 60

Can I use these for an active sub for home cinema use, with both units in one enclosure ?
How big should the enclosure be, any guidelines ?

I'm guessing from the specs and model number that they are 8 inch units. They aren't really all that great for a sub but if you don't want loud or deep they might be ok for a budget job in a small room.

3,5mm is not much

100L enclosure, vent 104mm dia (standard pvc pipe size) by 113mm long, Fb=35hz.

However the limited X-max (assuming it's accurate) severly limits powerhandling in this design to around 25w per driver.

On the up side it will be very efficient, so you should be able to get away with the lower power handling.

So I think I'll use them in a normal BR-enclosure, maybe together with a FOSTEX FE103.
