I am building a boat. I want to install stereo inside the boat with subwoofers. The limitation is that I should make it as light as possible. It's a small boat. I want to finish the build soon. I want to build a case for the stereo. To make it light, I am thinking about approaching an aluminum fabrication service for the cases. Do you think that aluminum will affect the quality of the sound or will tamper the stereo in any way? Since it lacks magnetic property, I hope this works. What are your thoughts on this? I need to decide asap.

Aluminium is fine for a housing, and it can also be used to aid heat dissipation. Always remember that 'free space' or 'separation distance' is the best and most cost effective solution to any induced interference issues (which I can't foresee on a small boat).
Yeah plywood, if you slather it in a polyurethane, it'll be well waterproof, aluminium needs to be anodized else it will pit very quickly in a marine environment, more cost, besides, I doubt you'll make your metal fabricator smile when you tell them that you want one of those rather than a thousand, and you're definitely not going to smile when they tell you how much they want.
You can always use plexiglass or acrylic sheeting. It's lighter than normal glass. you can get it here for pretty cheap Clear Acrylic - A&C Plastics Inc
