I have much experience building tube guitar amps, and I have just been exposed to the world of Mcintosh.
I was wondering how difficult it would be to get equivalent transformers. I know the "unity coupled" is sort of unique, but it there an equivalent I could use?
Thanks,
Jon

Also, you can do what Norman Crowhurst called "twin-coupled" which is a configuration that uses two output transformers coupled together with capacitors to achieve a similar effect as the unity-coupled transformer.
I think there are a few people (maybe even less) who will rewind burned out McIntosh transformers. The year was either 90 or 92 but Glass Audio ran an article about someone having new style transformers wound for a McIntosh clone. And to quote SpreadSpectrum "they ain't cheap"
