I said the electrical signal contains all there is to the sound of the DAC.
And why did you say a so obvious thing???
What the hell did that have to do with the conversation a so obvious thing?
Now you've even become a philosopher, you dug the hole yourself and now you don't know how to get out of it and you resort to philosophy. 🙄

In my view, to be seriously "believed", you should have said instead: << As far as we can measure based on that "little" that we know which to some instead seems "a lot" a measurement can be indicative of whether a device does not distort and is not noisy, but it can never tell us how it sounds. >>.

I don't need this conclusion. I hear how differ sound my DAC with different power sources, different cap in rectifier or with lithium battery or another power cord. This simple example shows that even one DAC can sound differ with the same measurements, not two similar DACs. If we have "excellent" measurements with USB powered simplifed schematics, so what about to speak ? You will not see this defference in those measurements.

wasn't this thread concluded already from post no61? why do people still argue?
a relatively easy question shouldnt have already been answered?

like, if we get 15 (i mean for those who dont believe no61) of these DACs (with SINAD below the theory) in a really revealing system like marks and do a test with rules that noone would be able to disagree with, would that test reveal if something is true or not? because we are not looking for difference in prices, only in perceived difference in the presentation of the signal right?

also, what is the difference in % of distortion for a human being (which human being really) to undestand 1 perceived level (the smallest) of difference?

Not "ignored", but "unknown".
There is a big difference.

Do you think the SINAD value tells you how a DAC sounds?
Distortion and jitter measurements tell you how much the signal has been distorted. If the distortion is below a certain level it will be inaudible. DACs shouldn't have a "sound". If the DAC is not distorting the signal it isn't going to have its own sound.

We do know that phycological effects like placebo, confirmation bias etc can be very significant. That's why blind testing is the only way to know that you are hearing a difference.

The fact you think different power cords change the sound is amazing. How on earth would they do that?

I absolutely am interested in discussing the subject. I haven't seen a strong argument against all DAC sounding the same (barring some slight filter effects that may be audible to some).

You seem to think you have a strong argument, but I don't think you do.

If you believe that pre-echoes or clipping on intersample overshoots may be audible to some, then logically, you should change your vote from 'No, they will sound the same' to 'Not sure'.
