I guess this is nothing special to work with so I'll keep looking till I find something. I am just a beginner and was looking to learn as I go. I was hoping this was a good one to work with.

BTW can anybody guess where this amp came from?

I's guess that it came out of an organ. Mono but with a 12 or 15" Bass driver & a smaller mid/tweeter.

It looks to have a very decent choke input power supply (all those chokes make it a very special Frugal-phile(tm) amp, nost of the stuff i see doesn't even know what a choke is, and you've got 2!!) -- you might have to change some caps. From there the voltage is just right for a single-ended or push-pull 6V6, EL84 or 6AQ5 amp. Since the 6V6s are there already....

But, as mentioned you'd need a matching pair of OPTs to make a stereo amp. Single-ended would be easier as a starter project, you certainly wouldn't have a shortage of power supply.

The simpliest amp would use a pair of the 6V6 and 2 halves of the 6SN7s (either 1 tube or half each of 2 tubes -- the last also leaving you the versatility of playing with parallel, SRPP or Mu drivers). You could extend that into a parallel SE amp with 2 6V6 per side.

The Hammand 125ESE is a decent budget OPT, that being multi-tapped would give you the ability to play with things like that.

Something like the attached....

You are right it came from an organ...it came from a hammond HR 40 tone cabinet that had 9-8" speakers and 2-12" speakers.

Do you think I should just scavange parts and start from scratch.
if this is what I should do what would be the best I could build with this...along with 2 OPT's I would not scrimp on them so give me suggestions.
Thanks Steve
