Looking for some help trying to identify this amplifier. Not sure of the brand. LP! ???? there are no other identifiers on the amp anywhere. I have googled my brains out and came up with nothing. Anyone familiar?? anyone seen this brand before??
The customer is absolutely in love with it and wants it repaired. trying to figure out what in the heck it is.

LPI doesn't turn up. It's a HiFi amp, not a PA amp, I would guess from the 80s.
For "capacitor-free audio" it sure has plenty of capacitors.

im not sure what it is. home audio makes sense. the note on the back says 8ohm min load which is odd. much of it looks like a cheap amp, but some of it doesnt. lots of mosfets and jfets and double stacked toriods. odd for sure.
Isn't the "8 ohm minimum" referring to bridging?
Not too impressive for a "very high current" amplifier.
What part of the country is the customer from?

I have a Parasound HCA-2200 (1st version) that has one channel (right) that makes a very LOUD sound on power up. Apologies up front for my lack of knowledge; I am a novice with electronics. The following info may give a clue to someone who knows what there doing. Some of this info maybe be relevant and some extraneous.
Amp comes out of standby fine, seems to play fine after its initial noise (low volume/test speakers).
On power up I connected a MM to each channel and set it to record max voltage:
L: 7V DC and 2V AC (quiet channel)
R: 49V DC and 29V AC (noise maker)
Amp has two...

Parasound HCA-2200
More like the HCA-2200 IMO.It looks VERY much like a Parasound HCA-1200 or 1500.

That's it exactly! its a Rebranded Parasound HCA-2200!!! THANK YOU!!!!!! Not sure the history of this. Many companies buy and rebrand products. I remember looking at a Carver CT-6 and a Parasound 800 i think it was and then a couple other brands and realizing it was all the same amp inside.
this was a studio amp so maybe it was a one off or something custom!
Thank you!

Check this out. I looked closer at the back panel and someone has painted over the Parasound text!!!
This was in a recording studio so I wonder if the installation company had custom faceplates made for the studio or something. Or. Maybe they were part of a custom speaker installation in the studio.
Thank you so much for the help!!
