I have a Marantz CD player that I play through a power head The rear of the power head has only 1 set of "Inputs" RCA + a record input. I need to have 2 sets of inputs as one set goes to my CD player and I need another to go to my mixer, can I just replace the single input with a double input..If this ends in a loss of power I have plenty in reserve via my power head and Mixer to compensate. I recently added the "Behringer MX2642A" that I picked up (Mint Con) $60 hence the need for another input on my power head....

Marantz CD player... yep know what one of those is 🙂

You play it through a powerhead ? Hmmm... well google tells me that's something to do with goldfish and fish tanks.

So your saying your short of inputs I think.
You can't parallel inputs really, if that's what your asking. Yes you may get sound, it won't harm anything, but it's a no no really.

Is that what you meant ?

I have the mixer as it gives far more tonal scope and its a $500 piece of gear I bought for $60 (Australian) I live in Brisbane. What I do is play backing tracks on the CD and supply the vocals basically like "Karaoke" I guess. I can do that with just the power head and cd but was trying to include the mixer in the loop.

I meant to address your question as to why I have the mixer..I intend to do some home recording.....I played as a pro lead guitarist for over 45 years in the U.K. North America and Australia. my fondest memory was at wembley arena for the 11th international country music festival in 1979.

Hi Wakibaki, Well your suggestion worked great no problems at all. I unfortunately am well past the "Sell By Date" at 68 plus I suffer a depressive illness and find it hard to think when i am suffering its effects..So thanks for the help. Of course thanks also to the others who shared their thoughts
