Can a tweeter/compression driver be padded too much?

Using woofer up to breakup point

Allen: Did I understand your last comment to suggest that by keeping the woofer in the correct range I'd be fine? That particular Eminence 15" is used as a sub, woofer, and mid-woofer. I'd want to cross to the TAD 12" at 250-300, where I know it works well. The woofer can be crossed much higher, but with my crossover slope at 24db/octave I should not have a whole lot of overlap there. I'm looking for solid bass down to 30hz from the 15", run the mid-bass up to at least 800.

I've got way too many house related DIY projects on my hands to carry out, especially in isolation due to Covid, so I will turn the cabinet portion over to my buddy who is finishing up an unrelated project for me this weekend. I know that is somewhat cheating on this site...

Meanwhile, I'm keeping my eye on the ESS project Pelanj is carrying out. That could always be added to this project later by just adding another pair of the drivers. Which, by the way, I consider a great bargain.

Thanks for your comments...
