Ultrasonic alarms in a car has had an effect on many people as well as myself. They typically run at 40 KHz. When I sit in the car without opening the doors, the alarm arms automatically after some time. No I don't hear 40kHz, it is impossible, but you feel this weird pressure in your temples. My wife locked the dog in the car once and when she came out of the café, the dog went ballistic. However, dogs can\t hear 40 KHz either. So something in our bodies are sensitive to higher/ultrasonic as well as subsonic frequencies outside of hearing.
We used to go on safari trips often and you hear lions roar on TV and so on, but hearing the real time is blood curdling. there is some low frequency in it that is not audible but you feel everything inside your gut shake.
