I'm considering the Cambridge Audio C500 pre-amp with a Cambridge Audio P500, the combimation come to £100 ($186). Does anyone have any ideas / suggestions / experience about these?
Cambridge are a good budget brand, and for that price you couldn't really get better value for money. There are better brands for more money, or you could build your own, but not for the same price.
cheers, that's about what I thought. The price seemed to be good for the cambridge models themselves as well, not just amps of that level. How would you compare the seperate C&P500 to the combined A500 amp?
from the schematic, looks very similar to a doug self power amp, dunno about the pre
I know he's had something to do with the azur range.

doug self designed their top of the range amp but the lower end stuff is pretty generic.
