That looks like flux etc although there is what appears to be a "water mark" on the IC. As if its been sprayed with freezer spray etc but it probably has not.

Actually the diode to the left of the IC. In the daylight it's not burned at all was working on it late last night and must have got tired sorry still the solder around looks a mess, still have not got far dismanteling seems to made to drive you mad been stumped by a screw that they put in a inexplicable place.
I think the only way to fix this is to get technical.
Scope checks of input to and output from the power amps. See where this hum is being developed and injected into the amp.
If a visual inspection throws nothing obvious and there are no obvious signs of damage then I don't think there is any other way forward.

I know your right but i have no scope are scematics, i might end up having to take it to the shop.
Hey did anyone get the service manual for the 640r?? If anyone could direct me to one that would be great. The link above does not work for me.
