I'm interested to know whether I can cost-effectively convert one of these players, highly likely PMD340 if any of them, from 120V 60Hz to 230/240V 50Hz.
It may be a relatively simple job to change where the supply cable taps into the mains transformer, or replace the transformer, or it might just be in the 'too hard basket'. The difference in mains frequency may kill off the idea, although I would like to think that 99% of the player works from low voltage DC.
Has anyone have any pearls of wisdom, or prepared to take a proper look under the hood of one they own?
Many thanks for any sage advice.
