Calling all clever people :) What do you make of this?

I just saw a show on Discovery channel. It was about different kinds of bicycles. Included in the group was a treadmill bike. The end of the treadmill was in contact with the rear wheel, no other source of propulsion. It was really neat to see that with the operator walking normally the progress made by the bike compared with walking normally.

Anyone want to guess?

OK so if we agree on that, am I safe to say that if, hypothetically, the wheels have a circumference of one metre and the total length of the belt is 100 meters and you put a mark on both that the marks will line up again after 100 rotations of the belt (or wheel for that matter), regardless of the the belt direction?
