Hi GM this is also very very good damping material.
Maybe better.
But not very good for health they say.
Anyway i have very good experiences with it.

This was a very nice and simple project with the Super 15 Alnicos.

Only I have to add some feets.
Very nice sound, even without any filter component!
Goes very deep en enough detail.

Been following with some interest, finally got around to simming your alignment.

You may need to damp the ports if that big peak before roll-off gets amplified by the room.

Thank you for repeating the sim in my first post ;-). Practically my room react a little bit different. So I modified the length of the ports after some listening hours. Sims are a good starting point but not that good for your unique setup.

The rise in response starts below 300Hz and reaches +2dB. It looks like just about right amount of baffle-step correction for average room conditions.

Some details please about ports lenght modification.

Do what you want with it ;-).

Conclusion is that these drivers (in 160 liter) perform very well and goes nice deep without any irritating producting of lows.
Believe it or not, everything is in good balance, not perfect but very good.
This because I think that the most full range drivers have more efficiency in the mid-lows / mids and highs than the lows.
You also can see that on the data sheet.

Overall a very very nice and simple project without any filter component.

Baffle Step will start about 300 Hz, the peak is too low for that.

Very true and no doubt why the pioneer's Shearer concept cinema speaker used a BLH as well as EV, Jensen with their big co/tri-ax drivers (among others I presume). 😉

No filtercomponent used yet.
I don't have experiences with filtering.
But believe me, it sounds already very good as it is without.
The Super 10 Alnico is also without any filter component.

V nice driver, the super 10 alnico. I prefer the classic alnico 10, it's more natural to my ear but the super is also super. Cool project.

Don’t know about that one, but the ceramic magnet one has a seriously bad ripple train (of cone resonances) from down low all the way up which i find makes them unlistenable.
