Does anyone know the CA339E quad volage comparitor be used for a phaze shifter to bridge a pair of power amps???

has anyone tried using this chip before, i know its a military chip and has great temp specs, just not a lot of other info.

Help is grately received, see you all later, steve.. ..

Hi Steve,

I assume that the CA339 is equal to the LM339 comparator, just a different brand.
The 339 is a quad comparator, not a quad opamp. That means it has no frequency compensation and only an open collector output. Even with a pull up resistor from the output to the positive power supply, it would result in a bad opamp, still no frequency compensation and not designed for linearity, only for gain. The input stage is similar to the LM324 quad opamp and that one is a very bad audio performer.
So forget the mil-spec temperature range (btw I thought it was the 139 version that has the better temp spec) and select a real audio opamp for your application, or a discrete solution.
