Hello,
I did build a fulrange speaker with an Mark Audio Alpair 10.3M in a ported box wich works wonderwell and give a nice bass, but on the high frequencies it's a bit shouty with some (mainly modern) music. I feel like the driver is slightly overdriven or forced to give more arround 10kHz to compensate for the lack of real high frequencies of the driver. You can see also on the specs provided by the manufacturer that it has that bump. I was thinking to add a helper tweeter (on this point i'm mainly thinking about a BG Neo3 crossed at 9.5kHz) as helper but that can still change) so i need to build a passive crossover. I have a design that should be good (and also compensate for the +3dB efficiency of the tweeter) but i would like to ad a bypass for the filter and the tweeter so i can switch between real fullrange and the 2way with the tweeter without having to unbind the cables all the time.
How can i build a bypass knop on speaker level (45watt max) for my crossover. I got basic speaker knowledge and electronic skills and can solder and read plans, but got no id how to build this. I've seen it on pro level speakers, but i'm out of the p.a. bussiness for almost a decade now (due to back problems)
thank you very much in advance to point me in the right direction.
