I like the natural and relaxed sound of 10uF 50V Elna Silmic II... but that's subjective, so you could try both and see which one you like better.

Just pair of 10 or 22uF aluminium-electrolytic caps no further than 10mm from both supply pins to ground will be the best decoupling for the LM4562. Don't need to use ceramics, it can do much more harm to the sound than any benefits. If it's oscillating or noisy this will be problem with ground loops. Solid ground plane below LM4562 all the way is strongly recommended.
How would SMD ceramic decoupling capacitors next to the pins affect the sound, so many data sheets recommend them and all analogue designs I see use them, so some explanation would be interesting.....

I don't.
NPO / COG at digital IC supply pins, and WIMA SMD Film Capacitors at analog IC supply pins. The best.
