I just purchased a pair of Polk Audio monitor 7 speakers which say the use mylar caps in their crossovers. I thought about purchasing some of each, .01 and .1 mf dayton film and foil caps to bypass the original mylars. does this seem like it would be worth doing? if so, is there maybe other choices of brand than the daytons and maybe other mf values that would be better without upsetting the crossovers? Thanks! 🙂
hi chicken
If you worry about bipolar cap. you try to buy poly-cap replace it. i had ever done it before. but i don't like. sometime i think everything will be the best(CD-Amp). you will hear the difference.

Usually you would only worry about bypassing (large) electrolytic caps because of their poor high frequency performance. The mylar are already a 'good quality' part so I don't think you would benefit from any bypassing.
hi richie
