Hi, I'm new I have read a lot of threads of the forum and finally I get to bypass the ballast of the epson emp-810. Now, I want contribute to forum:
Power up with lamp
1 2 3 4 5
0,10 grnd 3,85 1,34 3,28
Without lamp and Balast connected to the five pin
1 2 3 4 5
2,91 grnd 5,15 4,33 4,36
Without lamp and with the balast not connected
1 2 3 4 5
2,91 grnd 5,15 0,00 0,00
Note: all measurements are doing from pin 2 with the rest of pins.
Solved
Pin 1 to grownd of a screw
Join Pin 3 to 4 with a resistor of 127 ohm
Join pin 3 to 5 with a resistor of 28,5 ohm
With this the proyector don´t shut down. After I will remove the ballast and in the place of it I put a transformer of laptop.
I hope to works for someone!
Sorry my english, I´m spanish
regards

Need similar help in bypassing infocus x10 projector
Hi there, thanks for sharing your success. I am trying to do similar bypass for my infocus x10 projector. so far no success. The voltages on the 5 pin control cable is as below
Lamp on and all working
1 2 3 4 5
0.1 gnd 5 4.17 5
No lamp and ballast connected
1 2 3 4 5
3.2 gnd 5 4.2 5
No lamp and no ballast
1 2 3 4 5
3.2 gnd 5 0 5
If i ground the 3.2 pin, the color wheel keeps spinning but it shuts down after the boot up sequence. Tried connecting variable resistance to achieve 4.17 on pin 4 but still it shuts down. Tried with an alternate led lamp also but same behavior.
Could you please tell me what logic you used to calculate the resistance that should be connected between 3,5 and 3,4 pins?
Could you compare my voltages and calculate what resistance I should use to achieve the bypass? Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.
