Seems On-Semi (the rump-end of Motorola) is disconnecting us from their High Voltage/High Current MOSFET's -- all the big guys (800V/3A) apparently have been discontinued.
This companies policy is very simple.
Unless they can make and sell a million pieces a year
then they do not want to make or sell any. Regardless
of price.
95% of the old motorola line is now discontinued.
On semiconductor is the main reason i no longer design
with american made semiconductors!

And to think that Motorola/On were "old faithful".
My, how times have changed...
But then, many of the Japanese discretes seem to come
and go pretty quickly.

MOT had a great off-line switcher
chip in their Green Line -- I was all set to start working on a design when the product went obsolete.
Well, there are some beefy IRF HexFets I'll be ordering from Allied this week.
