dark?
Doing such a test is just as silly as repeating the experiments of someone who claims to have invented a perpetuum mobilee.
Guys, I don't have to bother, I know enough, already. It is the rest of you who remain in the dark, so do the test, yourselves.

Yes, I know Scott, I have the info in front of me. For example, in 1690, John Locke "In his 1690 tract 'An Essay Concerning Human Understanding'. Locke compares one who would say that properties inhere in 'substance' to the Indian who said the world was on an elephant which was on a tortoise "but being again pressed to know what gave support to the broad-backed tortoise, replied---something, he knew not what.""
Don't fool with the master, sonny. ;-)

John,
I am interested in these statements. If you are not wishing to prove your point why have you spent this amount of time enlightening the ignorant? Seems like there are better ways of utilizing one's time, no?
Joacham, I hope to meet with you (informally) at CES. We can laugh about all this, together. You can probably find the article in the 'Stereophile' files. I find plenty there.
I spend a lot of time, trying to keep people's minds open enough to try something, themselves. It might be listening to a vinyl recording, even when the CD is commonly available. It might be, that some wires do have differences, and even that some wires need to be broken-in to sound their best. It is my experience that I am trying to convey. I am not trying to sell anyone, anything. One can live in ignorance, but when they overtly attempt to convince others, in their ignorance, then the fur must fly.

If you need, I can provide an entire list of topics to laugh over.

Yepppp 🙂
Well, that is what creates a debate. If everyone agreed in advance, what would be the point of it?
Well this allows anyone to gauge how confident you are in you beliefs. The test isn't even set up yet and you're running for the hills.
You would too if you were armed with well... nothing. 😀

Cal, the quote: 'The thinker thinks and the prover proves.' comes from 'PROMETHEUS RISING' by Robert Anton Wilson. Interesting book, especially the chapter about 'rationalist robots' that seem to be everywhere on this thread. ;-)

Locke is definately a newbie here. We are talking several thousand years of religious tradition. What is your point? Stating that peoples religious traditions are not literaly true is not very profound. Frankly I think this cable burn in stuff is completely ** and you and Andre will run away from any confrontation that would make a decision one way or the other.
Just discussing philosophy, Scott. Andre and I know where the BEAR sits. ;-) It sometimes is called accumulated wisdom.
And if someone stepped forward to finance 10 interconnects of Andre's specification and burned in 5 to his specification. He would run away.
I can only answer what makes sense to me. What might teach others. I am not paid to answer your personal questions, and I am told by the moderators to ignore people who appear to just be posing questions. Understood?
