I just got my system up and running last night. Seeing how cheap i can have a ok system.
Projector (Apollo) - $15 (craigslist)
NEC LCD (1024x768) - $75 (craigslist)
Like they say, not an award winning setup, but nice for $90 in parts!!
Now after running for a little while, but havent tweeked the video settings at all, i noticed i could use a slightly hotter color bulb. Whats in there now seems like a standard high output incandescent running only one 120v. Its a little too yellowy for me. Is there a bulb that not only runs brighter but runs cooler? Right now i have no fan, so i'm afraid to run anymore than a few minutes in fear of burning the LCD.
