Hey...Im looking to build some good front inexpensive speakers.

They have to handle 100 watts RMS since my reciever is a 100x5 reciever.

Preferably i want to make tower speakers

Theres no need for subs to be in them since i have an adire tempest taking care of that.

And lastly im not looking to spending TOO much money on the speakers, but i DO want them to sound pretty nice.

(and if i could use speakers that they sell on partsexpress.com that would be great)

speakers.

Chris,
I built a set of 'MTM's using stuff from PE. Peerless HDS 6.5's (no phase plug) and Morel MDT30; they're in a 42" tall tower with the flared port kit.

I had a woodworker make the cabinets for me; was only charged $90 each.

They sound very good. I don't use a center channel, and don't have the surrounds done, yet.

Good luck.

Hi Chris

As long as you don't listen really loudly, or have any components that overdrive your amp, then you can quite easily use a pair of 50 or 60w🙂att'n:RMS, not PMPO:att'n: ) speakers, and the improved headroom of the amp/speaker combination will give you a better sound quality.

This should give you more options in selecting a kit.

I am not familiar enough with what you get on your side of the pond to recommend any particular kit, apart from the Audax HT kit, but if you do some research on old threads on this forum you should get some good ideas of what is out there🙂

Good luck
