Kuiperik,

Great pictures. Are you up and running and how is the sound.

The sub is already playing for a couple of months. I recently bought an subamplifier (Thommessen Proteus SW6.0) to gif him some extra power. Later this year I will finish the sub with real wood or veneer.

The Sub is sounding very nice. The bass comes running out very easy and integrates very good with the fronts. The sub is being used up to 60Hz.

I did also build an BassReflex box for this driver, but that one did sound more boxy then the TL.

Navin,

Your design sounds interesting. I am still open to design changes but I think I want the external cabinet something like I have. Can you post a sketch of your idea.

Planet10,

At first I toyed with a dual driver set up. I suppose that the driver could be offset some but because the cabinet is behind an existing object I would like to keep it higher even though the lower placement has certain advantages due to lower center of gravity and boundry reinforcement. I am concerned with the driver firing directly into the keyboard rack that it sits behind that it will excite more vibrations. Maybe not but I like the looks of the high placement.

You don't have to move the driver, but you could shift the line so that the driver is offset. Killing that 1st harmonic means you can use less stuffing which gives you more useful terminus output -- a very useful thing in a sub (particularily since at LF the stuffing isn't as effective so you have to use more anyway.
