I just bought a sheet from the same supplier I have been using over the last year and my price dropped slightly. It was $50.50 for 18mm 5x5.
So maybe Baltic prices have dropped recently? But your experience says the opposite.

Check with cabinet shops. They will sell offcuts real resonable for BB. I used to live in lovenad and woodcraft carried it.
