Building DIY Projector with DEll 24 inch LCD

Anyone thought about spending a thousand dollars for a monitor to get the best DIY projector done ?

Come back when you find a lens that can see the whole thing, also fresnels....

I think it's more about Fresnels. The lens can be positioned to see the whole thing, correct ?

Suppose I have a friend in the Fresnel business. If I ask him to make a sample pair of Fresnel lens for me for this project, what dimensions should I aim for ?

FL back = ?
Groove pitch = ?

It's hard enough to find an economical lens that will work with a 17 inch lcd, although two are in the process of being developed right now. The focal length of the lens that you will use for your 24 inch lcd will determine the focal length of the fresnels that you will have custom made. Let us know what lens you plan on using.
