Hi all,
I created this thread to share my progress building DAC by using dam1941/dam1921,
I just got newest dam1941 board some day ago, and just powered up it yesterday
The major idea is just following
1. power up dam19x1 by LT3045 regulated PSU,
2. buffer it with single opamp using Sparkos or Sonic Image Pro serial Opamp. also power by LT3045 too
3. controller and LCD 5 inch display using Pi Zero 2W, isolated serial console by Si8641
4. Optional integrate eRed Dock
is anyone doing the same projects? we can share experience to improve it sound
Thank you and hope your like it

It look really good 🙂 I like the separation with the sheets inside.
Chassis is your author's project? Please show more photos.

Yes, I make my own chassis from Aluminium. some picture after mount Front panel
Thanks @Fabianmu,Wow, it does not happen often that I admire tolerances, but I have to admit, I'm a bit aroused.
I've tried dam1941/1921 for long time already, but not have chassis yet, so this time I want to make it better
Yes @NickUK,Bit of shielding for the digital (specifically the screen) I thought would help aid noise. However I love the design.
I assume a CNC shop created the case from your designs?
for currently sound i think it's worth for my build, the sound is clear, very crisp and clean. just one thing the USB interface sound not as good as Mutec MC3+USB (after i mod linear power supply for it),
My Family have CNC workshop, then it can help me alot when building case.
I will try them then can make modules if it better, thanksAlso I found a IEC filter like schaffner helped reduce external noise from entering. I suspect with the 3045 you'll see less than I have with linear modulated supplies.
Looks lovelyMore pictures
For next, I would like to make buffer for both Balance and Unbalance output. but let do test how this sound first

I think you just need start to build it with good powersupply, isolate other thing from DAC like display, and finally choose suitable output stage that you likes, then you have a good DAC.I am looking to build a balance DAC around 2941 DAC board of Soekris. Would love to hear your experiences and details of your building process. experiences. What to do , not do and what would you have done differently. etc etc. Your guidance most valuable.
