Building a turntable...

Hi.

I rescued a Revolver turntable that someone had thrown in a bin, its got a Linn Basik LV-S arm fitted, but no cart...

I'm planning a rebuild using the arm, bearing and motor.

It should be straight forward as the only thing I'm doing really is building a new plinth. I'm going to have the motor external though, mounted in its own cylinder so as to try and reduce vibration.

Heres the Revolver before :

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

BB, why rebuild it?

if the plinth is in good condition, leave it alone. One of the few plinths that actually worked. Dirt simple...but perhaps a little ugly.

The arm is nothing special, but a reasonable performer, given it's price point (often included with the purchase or the original Revolver Rebel tables). If the bearing and motor are in god or serviceable condition, a definite score.
