Building a HiFi 2000 5U Monster Housing

I'm just starting to finalize the build of the F6 and thought I'd get the biggest housing possible due to the higher voltage on the output transistors.

Also I'm a firm believer that the power supply is key to a great sounding amp so my power supply is gib and the need for the largest housing the HiFi 2000 has.
Because the transformer is huge 1500VA together with the smoothing capacitors the bottom of the case began to buckle so I found out later that HiFi 200 makes a base plate but only for the 4U housing which seems strange. But looking at the dimensions it seemed it would fit the bill. So another order to them and the base plate arrived. I had been prepping the heatsinks drilling and tapping for the PCB standoffs and the SiCFets so got that out of the way.
On receiving the base plate I found that it was not prepped at all for the 5U case let alone the 4U!

There are only 4 bolt holes with recessed holes for the screw heads but non on the the base plate!!!!

Then to cap it off the plate fouled two of the screw heads that attach the frame of the case. Considering how expensive this case is I'm surprised no one has commented before so this is why I'm sharing this so others are aware before they purchase and know what they need to do to make it work.

The third picture shows the recessed hole for the screw head but no hole on the base plate. The sixth photo shows the slots I had to cut to allow the base plate to sit down squarely on the frame to make a rigid construction.

Will be posting the finished build in the Pass Forum.🙂

On receiving the base plate I found that it was not prepped at all for the 5U case let alone the 4U!

From the pictures you posted it seems as if you ordered the "Inner baseplate for the Pesante" instead of the "Inner baseplate for the Dissipante".
Check the company's web site and you will see that the latter comes with the notches you had to cut on the one you ordered.

Thanks for the information but your case depth is the 400mm one and there is no base plate made for the 500mm one that I have so I had to use the 400mm one. But still the plate in the picture shows notches in the front and back and I needed them for the sides where the frame bolts to the heatsinks.
Not to worry as I modified mine to suit and my F6 looks magnificent and runs so cool as well as making beautiful music.
