I'm looking to build some new 3-way speakers using the Dayton RS28f-4 tweets, (2)RS150p-8 mids, and (2)RS225-8 woofers per speaker. The MiniDSP 2x8 is what I have my eye on for going active on crossover, EQ, etc. I currently have a standard HiFiMeDIY T2 with the SMPS300R PSU and it seems to work well on existing speaker setups.
I'm thinking my plan is to get another T2 and use both T2's for the tweets and woofers off the existing power supply (using about 30w per tweeter and 80w per set of mids) and getting the T3S for the woofers (off perhaps the SMPS500R). Prior, I planned a T2 on the woofers, but would be pushing the maximum output to keep up and I like head room. I will only use about 40% of the power on this amp.
Just curious if anybody sees a flaw in my plans here. Or if they have any better suggestions. I definitely don't mind spending a little more if it equals to better quality!

I personally would prefer stand-alone active speakers with 2x4 miniDSP each as 6 cables to each speaker would be necessary. With miniDSP box in the middle it would be 14 audio cables from source to the speakers plus power cables for the amps and miniDSP - that would suck me 😉 but except that personal preference I would say that's an excellent idea and excellent choice for the amps. There are some quite cheap 24V 150W notebook brick substitute which SMPS which have a secondary 5V output (like this one http://www.ebay.de/itm/390842344879?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT - I have two of them, they're quite good), one or maybe even two of them in parallel would be perfect for such a system with build 2x4 inside as you can use the 5V USB out directly for the miniDSP.
A single 4.0 (3&4 bridget maybe is possible) or 2.1 amp for each speaker might be a more elegant way than two stereo amps, as less idle power would be neceassary and it would cost less, though I don't know which to recommend.
