building a 12" sub box

We need more information than that, my friend.
If it's that urgent, just build the biggest wooden box you can, airtight, sealed not ported.

yeah,i have to get it done with in 2 weeks.i dont know much else.its running off a 1200w amp that is also driving mids,tweeters and 6-9s.how much does a port help.i need in to be the correct size for a volkswagen polo hatch back.😀

A port helps to get more low bass, but you don't have any information about the subwoofer so you can't do a ported box.
That's why you should go sealed, and build the biggest sealed box the car can handle and the owner can tolerate.

so if i take up half the trunk with a sealed box it will give me more bottom end and a few more dB's.i have a 1200w to run the cars ssytem.how should i run it.must i bridge the 6~9s and have more power driving the sub.
More power will give more dB, but power isn't everything. You'll get deafening levels with less than 1200w ...
