After years of RC RIAA networks and dozens of simulations I have concluded that it is time to build a LCR RIAA phono preamp.
Also after reading dozens of forums it seems that low 600R LCR is the best way to equalize due to smaller L values.
So the question is: Do I procure the individual parts of the LCR and built it from scratch OR do I buy a prebuilt 600R LCR????
Anyone have experience with this?
I think costs would be similar but the ability to switch out caps/resistors would be a plus for the scratch build.
SILK AUDIO LCR: ~$600
Lundahl Ls: ~$300 + $100 for C and R

Getting sufficiently precise inductors has been a concern that has kept me away.
I have also considered 75 or 150 ohm networks and had the idea that I could perhaps trim the other passive components in the network to improve conformance to RIAA.

I would get the ones that you can change the resistors and caps. Caps really change the sound in those positions. I used Dave Slagle 7k ones so I could experiment with alot of different tubes. Enjoy the project.

I also bought Dave's inductors on ebay (many taps, +/- 20%, maybe 7-8k, the seller don't know exactly) for future development.
