Buffer with 2sk170 loaded by J113

Hi all,

Is it possible to create a buffer like a B1 with the 2sk170/lsk170 loaded by a J113. Curious if this would allow for a buffer with specs closer to the traditional b1 and not as finicky as the J113 loaded by J113 as in the crossover. But, I'm sure there is something I'm missing.

considering that lower JFet in "same sex" JFet buffer is "just" CCS , you can make it in zillion different ways

though, there is one particular advantage when you're using same part in both positions - they're having same TempCo , so DC offset is extremely well behaved in time/temp. domain, for entire range better than it is the case with , say, complementary JFet buffer

so, if DC offset behavior is critical, you know how to think

if it's not critical, The World is your Oyster

True, but I have obtained very good results with CCS of J113 of high Idss and
degenerated with Source resistance. It removes much of the personality of the J113.

Saves on expensive 2SK170/LSK170.

Also I get good results with matched J113's top and bottom with equal Source
resistance, but the 170's still take the ultimate prize.

Thanks for the help. I have some matched lsk170s from the store and j113 from the lxmini crossover kit, which I guess are matched to each other. If I load the lsk170s with those should I use the 100 ohm source resistors in the as in the kit, or connect directly to ground like in the b1. I suspect that because the active device is the lsk170 I can connect the source directly to ground, and that I can use load resistors as in the B1.
