Probably more your speed : ......
Lowell makes nice drivers. I have some of their 8 " whizzered, and they are a step above Bogen et. al.
While the 8" is arguably more 'HIFI', you know I'm a 'BIB' kind of guy, so would opt for the 12" and if need be, add a mid horn to 'sweeten' up the vocals.
Good to know, thanks! I'm way out of date on pretty much all this stuff and didn't even remember Lowell.
BTW, DC Gold [Babb] is back in business with some new, revised drivers and among other things, one of their distributors is LaFayette, which I thought went under decades ago. For sure, they're just a 'shadow' of their former selves, but nice to see them still around and wondering how/why they've been 'invisible' all these years, what with folks like us scouring the net for familiar names and new 'deals'.

Now I do. I was thinking you were Mr. lo-Q horn driver.
I do remember you saying IB to be optimum though ( come to recall )

No one ever knew (knows) of Lowell.
Or (in this crowd) would buy them if they did.
I learned (accidently) way back that drivers without
the label 'hi fi' or 'professional' are the same ones
with ~ price/2

I get the impression Babb himself is no longer involved.
I'll look @ the DC Golds again.
Last time I looked (some time ago) the prices seemed
ridiculous.
The 10" Babb's I once had did have some redeeming
qualities though. The only drivers I ever had that produced
good highs from the rear (downfiring) .......

Boss's polycone "fullrange" with hard plastic whizzer cone don't measure great but sound good enough to enjoy music (if the music is good) - maybe the coax are pretty decent
these would probably play in a sealed rear chamber "K8" size - they would be fun for kids at Halloween
