I'm looking for a cheap scope, cruising thru ebay yields many more than in familiar with.
Any suggestions for analog audio work?
I could get something like a Picoscope, but in dubious about them, and digi scopes in general

A 20MHz scope would suffice for general analog audio work. I have a 30Mhz bought new at retail, ~$400.(US) I could have gotten a 100MHz scope for ~$900. Although it was nice, I couldn't see paying 120% more for features I would not need. If you can get a good deal on a used one, make sure it is calibrated properly. I recommend a decent function generator (or two🙂) to go along with the scope.
plenty of Tek 'scopes on ebay - lots of threads in equipment and tools forum
I would go for 2000 series, not bother with the even older stuff if I didn't already have a 7603 mainframe I got for $150 with plugins and probes

I picked up a Tektronix 2225 after watching this Tektronix 2225 Analog Oscilloscope - EEVblog #196 - YouTube
The 500uV per division did prove very useful when building DC power supplies and measuring noise on signal lines. Only thing i miss is any form of capture functionality.

Very nice 20MHz 2ch scope. Analog with digital storage function
Component tester (caps, diodes transistors) with XY-operation

Check out Owon and Rigol brands also. I read that some people think Rigol is more rugged than Owon. Especially the new models.
