My reply referred to the service manual of the dfa888.
(the dfa888 has rather nice output stages, btw, much nicer than LM packages)

Yeah, the dfa88 is a really nice product.
As Mr Mooly said, if it sounds worse warm, there's something wrong.
One fragile point is the negative feedback route of the output stages, they include jumper contacts.
The white connector between the output coils, grey wires, same story at the volume pcb.
