Bridge Connection Problems

Hello folks,

This is my first post on the way to hopefully building an LM3875 inverted GC. I've done a fair bit of research on this forum and have ordered my parts. I'm very new to this hobby. I have built the Electronic Tonalities Foreplay pre-amp and a variety of speakers.

I'm having some problemos wiring my rectifier bridges. I'm using Hammond 160 Va 22x22 transformers. I have connected to the main, primaries in parallel and both sets of secondaries are giving 22v on my DVM. I'm using one power supply and two bridges for each amp.

I can't seem to get the right voltages from the bridges. I'm convinced they are not wired properly but can't seem to figure it out.

Here goes,

I'm assuming that one pair of secondaries connects to top bridge and the other pair to bottom bridge?

First pair secondaries to ac inputs on top bridge
Second pair to ac inputs on bottom bridge
Top bridge V- tied to bottom bridge V+ and that to ground?

I measured at V- of bottom bridge and V+ at top bridge and get 40v - I could also be measuring wrong!!!

Nothing on fire, no melting, no wierd noises...

I'm hoping that I did not look at the same Schematic as Grahamn Dodder - it seems simple.

As a start can anyone help first by directing me to a simple schematic that clearly shows the layout - I'm really not sure where I got mine from. I've heard that the Thor Amp schematic shows this configuration.

Any help appreciate for this humbled new DIYer.

Thanks in advance, Steve
