Bride of ZEN zener diodes

Zener Question- How many with slightly reduced voltage?

If I have a 28.4v + 28.4v transformer do I need to reduce the number of zeners?
Or do I have to reduce the value of one on each side of the PS ciruit?

I have tried swapping 1n4007 and mur820 diodes in BOZ, I found no difference. I have tried the same for most of the Zen power amps, in that case I believe there is a difference, maybe an improvement.
